Robert Busby
Meegan Holland of Small Things Productions has produced concerts since 1997, when she and partner Robert Busby started Creole Gallery in Lansing's Old Town. Creole thrived as a venue for concerts, poetry, theater and the visual arts until Busby's untimely death in 2007.
Holland has a history of booking many genres of music, including jazz, bluegrass, world, americana, pop and more.
Musicians have ranged from Wynton Marsalis to Alex de Grassi, from Karrin Allyson and Cyrus Chestnut to Pat Donahue, James McMurtry and Cheryl Wheeler. Bands that have played Creole Gallery have come from Lansing and as far away as Papua, New Guinea and Italy.
After the death of her beloved
Robert, Meegan quit music for a couple years and moved to Grand Rapids, where she works for The Grand Rapids Press and MLive.com. But music has lured her back; she sporadically produces concerts at Creole Gallery, now owned by Robert's daughter, Ena Busby. Join Creole Gallery's Facebook page.
